Guest,

Does it come with a cherry old '57 Chevy?? You will have to excuse me but I have never heard of such a rifle. Not the Model 94 part but rather the Chevy part. But there are lots of "Special Edition" and "Limited Edition" versions out there. I doubt that the Chevy part adds much to the rifle unless you try to sell it at a car show. Some guy with a Chevy pickup in Texas might just go nuts over it. In fact, I live there and can almost guarantee it!

Back to the rifle. Condition is going to dictate the value. I'll suppose it is very clean. But my guess is it is around $350 or so. Vintage rifle collectors won't touch it so you are going to have to find a different audience to sell to.

It had never been out of the box until last year when it was passed down to me. No sentimental value or anything. I just took it out of the safe and rem-oiled it. It's in mint condition. I'm thinking of trading it for a Beretta Bobcat (NI tomorrow morning at a local shop. The Bobcat is priced at $329 and I'm trying to figure the deal.. What do you think? Thanks Ron

PS: It's a deluxe (checkering)with the Chevy medallion in the stock

What you need to ask is "what is the value of the Beretta". The shop owner only paid $250 would be my guess if he is asking $329. I have watched lots of Winchester rifle being sold at auction and then show up in dealers sites with 40 to 50 percent markups!! Knowing most of the time they are going to come down 10 to 15 %.

That listing I sent you I can guarantee he paid somebody lots less than the $850 he is asking. I bought a rifle there for 25% off his asking and no doubt I could have got 30. I just didn't start low enough.

Good luck tomorrow,

Here is what I would do. Go to the shop tomorrow with 14 nice crisp $20 dollar bills and just buy the Beretta. I'll bet he sells it to you. Then list your Chevy on Gunbroker with a $550 reserve and a $100 opening bid. If it sells for + 550 you will have the Beretta in your hand and at least $270 in your pocket burning a hole.

Thank you... I'll see what i can do tomorrow. Ive recycled several with this guy and he knows that if he makes the deal I want, I'll trade. Around here, you don't get much for used stuff.. Cheers.. Ron
