What s the value of a Remington model 1890 .22Cal Short pump action repeating riffle? The gun is in good condition, no rust. The finish is grey in the frame and barrel. The clip tube is blued. It has an octagonal barrel.

Craig Black,

Ditto from me. My money is on it's a Winchester. It should look like the one in the photo. Which is in quite good condition and is about a $1500 to $1800 rifle. From the description of yours it is going to worth substantially less. You may have missed the Winchester name if there is a tang peep sight on the top of the stock above the trigger. That is where it would be stamped Winchester Model 1890.

Send a photo or two and we can make sure.

Thanks

My apologies. It is a Winchester. You say these guns normally are worth between $1500 to $1800, but mine would be worth substantially less. Why?
