hi bill,
it's very hard to give a value on such a rifle without a hands-on appraisal. check your against those on this site, value will quit possibly be considerabel.

bill,
give an insurance agent a call, any should be able to direct you to someone who can do an appraisal for insurance purposes.

Bill

I am a new moderator on the site and going back over old posts to see if there is anything I can add. Did you ever find out what you needed to know. Your 1886 is a very nice looking rifle. I did not see anything but one minor question of wood fit on the stock.

Let me know if there is anything I can add
