Guest,

I do not do much with special issue and limited edition type of rifles. I might suggest that you contact the folks at this link. It seems to be their business. Keep in mind that they will low ball any offer to you to cover their markup.

Good luck

Here is one from their site. It would most likely sell for at least ten percent less. That is the built in dealing room.

1973 ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE CENTENNIAL 30-30 cal.
STANDARD MODEL 10442 mfg. $895
Engraved bright gold plated receiver, full length forearm (musket style), 22 " round barrel

That should at least be a starting point

Of all the ones I have seen advertised they seem to be listed between $1000-$1500 depending on the condition.

If it is still for sale I would be interested in purchasing it.

im not sure if selling is in my plans i am wonder what it is worth first and then deciding if it is better as a family heirloom or a way out of debt.

B Black.

Having the original box and hang tag on a rifle that is unfired, will affect the value. A more important consideration is whether it is an MP serial number (only sold to RCMP members) or an RCMP serial number, which was sold to the general public. There were several thousand of the RCMP serial number and they are not that rare.

The service history that you have and original sale receipt will not really add any monetary value, only a sentimental value for your family.

Another consideration for you (if in Canada), since this is an inherited firearm, is that you must have a Possession and Acquisition license and must register the firearm. Also meet all requirements for legal storage or display. A lot of people inherit things like this, but have no gun license and could get themselves in a sticky situation with the police. If that were the case then unfortunately this gun could be seized and destroyed... an unfortunate end to many of these RCMP centennial rifles. Selling it to the right person is one way to make sure it does not get destroyed.

As far as getting yourself out of debt, I can tell you that the MP serial number, unfired, in a box is worth about 1000 and an RCMP serial number is worth about 500. That is strictly my opinion, some people will ask more, but I think they are too high. Ultimately it is worth what some one else is willing to pay you.

I hope this info helps. Email me if you’re interested in selling.

Thanks.

I just purchases an MP serial number Centenial Rifle, never fired, in mint condition, in the box for $1275 Canadian.

For the exact same thing with an RCMP serial number I would say the value is about 600 - 700.

Do you know which serial number it is you have?
