Guest,

You are the winner of the oldest gun of the day. That old gal came out in 1897!! 112 years ago! The cost was right around $18 to $20 back then. Bet you can get more for it now. But if you want to know send photos or at least a darn good description of the rifle. Please.

Congrats

Thank you very much for your information. I thought that it was around 1897 but wanted confirmation. Not for sale but just for the historical knowledge of the rifle. I have to tell you that it is in perfect original shape. Barrel is sharply grooved. Action seems quite tight. Normal wear on the steel and wood. I was blessed to get it from an old friend. A somewhat distant friend that is always there for you. I am an old guy that has hunted all his life, raises horses, and loves the old West. It was a perfect addition to my collection.

You are welcome. Glad to pass some info along. If you ever think it is time to find a new home for your old friend let me know. I can put it right in between a couple of its close relatives of the same year. I promise it will be a good home.

Right now I am looking for Serial number range 6400's in Model 1892. If you see any let me know.

That is one of my 1892's below.
