Sorry - I should have looked through other posts, first.
My SKS is in pretty new condition - a total of maybe 20 rounds fired. Chinese made with Norinco stamped on the side. It's about 3 ft long even from butt to barrel tip. No bayonet, but it includes the integral cleaning kit in the butt. The magazine is unmodified - as is everything else. I live in Michigan - I mention that, as I get the impression that region counts, too. I'm not looking to get top price, I just want to move it and offer a reasonable deal on all sides.
Also, is there a good place for guidance on how to sell a rifle in compliance with the law? The rules were relatively liberal when I purchased this weapon 15 years ago, but I'm sure things have changed.

hello again joe ,,it sounds like you have one of the chinese models that mr clinton deemed as an assult rifle in the assult rifle ban bill in the 80's ,,by removing the bayonet it became a legal to own semi auto what a joke!the norincos are well made and very dependable as sks's go but without the bayo it's worth around 300 give or take,,in my part of the country i see people selling them for 300-350,,but they are not the fastest movers at these prices

,,for the regulations on gun laws search your state and then gun laws ,,some states are carzy with regulations and without searching yours and researching the laws i wouldn't want to steer ya wrong about selling it ,,remember that state laws superseed the atf regulations in most cases ,,but i'd check the atf's website also,,sometimes there regulations are very vague concerning rifles so you have to look at the regulations with an open mind and try to figure out what there trying to say..,you might want to explore a private sale in your aera where you could just go to your local gunshop and do the transfer ..this way you don't get into state to state regulations ..just some basic info on selling across the state lines ..

Thanks, Big Curt. It turns out that things are really simple in Michigan. I just need to fill out a receipt with the serial number, date and time of the sale. Of course it has to be signed by both of us. I'll see if my prospect will take $250.
Out of curiousity (I don't have the disposable income right now), what do you mostly deal in? (I take it that you are a dealer/collector). If anything, I favor 1911's as that's what I was trained on. I haven't liked any of the 9mm that I've tried except for an expensive Sig (government model, I think)
