A stainless MK III would be worth probably in the range of $1500-1600. The only problem is, colt only manufactured a couple of prototype stainless MK IIIs. I doubt you have one or have seen one. If it is shiny then its nickel. If its not shiny its satin nickel. $600-650 would be about right if the revolver was perfect with the original box. A single scratch will drop the value. Anything less than perfect and the price will drop significantly.

I agree with you totaly except your price. The dollar has fell but the value of a colt is up .try to find a really nice colt revover with a nickle finish For under $600 .Thease guns are treasures. There is no stainless troopers except flea market clones and proto types pipe dreams.
