I have two questions about this gun. One, I would like to know when it was made? Two, what company made this gun for Wards? Was it savage firearms? I need parts for this gun is why I am asking.....Doug

hello,,are you sure on the model number ?my books list an 059 but i can't find a refrence to a 58 under western feild,,are there any other numbers underneith the model number line?mabey with letters in it or dashes? i'll check gunparts corp to see if theres a cross refrence there and let ya know if i find anything on it ..

ok sorry but the refrence books didn't list a md 58 for some reason made by western field and i checke 3 books ,,i beleive the savage model 7 or 7s parts will work ..i had to do a search to see a pic,,refrence says made from 1930's-50's refered by some as a gill guns because of the cuts on the side of the receiver,,hope thats what you were looking for ..try gunparts corp. for parts,,try this link http://www.e-gunparts.com/products.asp? chrMasterModel=089Zz7&MC=..is yours a clip fed or a tube fed model? if tube fed it would be a md 6 clip fed would be a model 7 ,,i have an old parts diagram i can try to scann if ya need one

If you can try to scan the parts diagram. This gun also has a 10 round clip

no problem ,,i look on gunparts site and they have some of the parts ..hope they can help ya out with what ya need..if not let me know what ya need ..i'll be helping to get rid of an old gunsmiths parts inventory in the weeks to come and i know he had alot of old savage parts but would have to see a pic or know which peice you need to see if i see anything simular,,but this may be a month or so before i could check so see if ya can find what ya need ..if not let me know and i'll try to look when i can ..
