I had a Wards Western Field 12 gauge shotgun passed down to me from a grandfather.
Model 30, serial # SB562A
I have had no luck finding the manufacture date and or an approximate value.
Help is appreciated.
hello ,,your shotgun was made by stevens and should be the same as there 520 shotgun,,prices will be the same as the stevens model and currently range from 125 good-225 excellent mabey a little more if extra clean ,, the so called "store brands"don't seem to have the values the regular models have in most cases ,,made between 1915-1930 this model was designed by browning and has a slight humpback receiver.
Thanks much, I appreciate the info.
I will be keeping it as a family heirloom.
I also have a hand-me-down shotgun from Montgomery Wards Western Field Browning, but my serial number doesn't have any letters, just 98065 (Model 30 12-gauge pump)...Is there a reason for this?
the stevens were not true browning made shotguns ..they used the browning designed action,,as for your question on serial numbers i don't beleive there any certain reason for the lack of letters and wouldn't increase the value one way or the other..
i need parts and all the guts for my 12 gadge montgomery ward pum shot gun it was my grandfathers and i would like to see it work where do i go? and how do i get the right receaver
Numerich has alot of parts for your sho talso a stevens 520, also check gunbroker
The Western Field model number 30 is just Montgomery Ward's store brand for the Stevens model 520. the additional numbers/letters (such as -SB562A) refer to optional variations from the standard model (like barrel lengths, etc.). The 98065 on the trigger guard is the serial number - mine is 91000. It looks like they were made around 1915-1928 ish.
ron sell it to stan for $20.00
would you know what this would be worth? western field 12 gauge pump shotgun serial number 94988A
I don't think the Serial # is "SB562A". My father has a Ward's Western Field 12 Gauge with that same stamp in it. There wouldn't be duplicate Serial #s.
I have a model SB 30 A
Wards Western Field 12 gauge shotgun pump
Montgomery Ward ,10221 on the trigger guard
That's all I can find on the gun Anybody
know what year it Made or value
I also have a Westernfield 12 gauge shotgun handed down from my great uncle. Model #XNH-565-C, can you tell me anything about it?
I have a guy wanting to sell me the same kind of gun, westernfield 12gauge, except he has had the barel shortend to 18 1/2in. put two plastic pistol grips on it and cut off the safety... its fun to shoot but #1 I'm not too sure if its leagal #2 he wants 200$ for it... he said he bought it 12 yrs ago for a little over 200$. I'm thinking its not worht that much but I'm not sure. What do you think? I could email you a pic of it.
We also have a WWF Model 30 with that serial number
Just make sure the barrel is 18.5. The whole gun has to a certain length as Well. Most just think the barrel is all that matters. If all it has is a pistol grip on it I'm pretty sure it's illegal. But if it was manufactured like that it's legal. Lol. Yea our dumb laws
probably made by stevens most of them were made in the 40's and had no serial #'s on them only a model #
I have a sawed off model 30 and the stock has been cut into a pistol grip. On the bsteel there's a 10 circled right above full. What does the 10 mean?
Your Serial Number is not An actual serial number but a MODEL number.
The serial number for the Western Field Model 30 (Stevens Model 520) is located on the bottom or trigger guard tang.
