Looking for some help. I have a Walther PPK 7.65 ser#761886 with a 90 degree safety. Prior to acquiring the weapon it appears as if the original safety was replaced with one from a more current model. So when the safety is put into the safe mode it does not cover the red dot(which indicates the gun is live) Which was how I was able to acquire the gun since the then current owner thought it was broken.I was told in the late 70's by the Walther expert at INTERARMS that it was one of the early(post WWI) weapons & had probably had the part changed to a current safety sometime in the prior 50 years but he couldn't tell me much more. Can anybody give me any info or tell me what its worth? Gun is in as new condition except for the safety. I will try 7 upload a picture to illustrate the This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

i can tell you this ,,the walther ppk was introduced in 1929 so thats i guess concidered post ww1..or you could even look at it as pre ww2..

..Walthers ppk models unless rare engraved officers models average avbout the same for standard post war or pre war pistols 400-900,,WW2 german marked pistols bring premium prices to German collectors and some of the special party or presentation grades command thousands..

..I can only venture a guess on the saftey issue as being changed at some time ..there is a possibility that it may have been issued to a solider with upgrades done before issue but thats only a guess !!
