Simplified instructions for photo upload using the newer site features on gunvaluesboard.com are here: http://www.gunvaluesboard.com/vlog-2-photos-simplified-uploading-tips-for-gun-values-board-213.html
Simplest way to say it: If you want your question answered and want an accurate value placed on your gun, you have to post pictures.
Taking decent photos and posting them to the site takes all of 15 or 20 minutes and can make all the difference in the response you receive. The boarders will be much more willing to take the time to address your question if you help us help you. A picture is worth a thousand words, literally. It’s not just a trite saying.
This video will take you from zero to photo-posting guru in about 10 minutes.
If you still have questions, please message me or comment and I’ll happily respond.

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! You da MAN! Great job Flynscott. Thanks for all your effort. It has been my experience that when I reply with my fairly standard "Why I need photos" and "What I need" posts that quite a few folks just kind of dissapear into the night. They just want to ask "What’s my 30-30 worth?" and not put much more into it. But there have been enough who make the effort and I so appreciate it. Many of our "customers" are obviously not real knowledgeable of the guns they have or just inherited. Their ability to described the condition accurately does not have a good point of reference.
I have gone to downloading the photos folks send me via email into photobucket and the pulling the ones I want to use in the replies. The file size used in posted photos does not allow much detail most of the time. Especially when you get the classic gun on the carpet or tile floor shots and no detail.
Thanks

Of course, my son just pointed out the "attach photo" area on the post entry area… and that uploading from your computer using that tool might be easier– but, it’s nice to have your stuff on Photobucket so you can use it to quickly and easily post in other forums than may not have the feature.
For that matter, you can also upload your photos directly to Photobucket from your camera. I just like to use the whole process for backup and ease of image manipulation.
The Photbucket option allows me to add multiple photos in one reply with specific captions or explanations for each. The "attach Photo" choice is limited to a single photo.. So when I used to want to reference multiple photos they had to have a single reply for each. Very bulky.
Good point. I’ve always used PB for that reason as well. Takes just a little more set up, but saves time in the long run. And as we’ve said so many times, the more photos- the better the response can be.
Flynscot - :-) Thanks so much for this!!! 2bit, could you click on the thumbs up on the top of the posts - this way this post will fly to the top of the top articles, and will be very visible for a while.
