,,In 1990 winchester recalled model 100's because of a possible problem with the fireing pin,,it seems some fireing pins were said to have broken and lodged in the bolt fireing pin hole and the possibility of a round being fired while closeing was an issue ..damage to the rifle or the shooter was possible ,,so if you bought the rifle used or new and don't know if it was repaired by winchester pleaase call this toll free number and find out if it was sent in for repairs ,,1-800-852-5734,,it is recommended that you do not fire it untill you have checked if it was corrected or not ..
