Just discovered my father-in-law has two old .22 rifles, and we would like to get a rough idea as to their value.

One is a Winchester .22 WRF, Model 1890, Serial Number 497XXX. It is missing the tube that goes in the tubular magazine.

The other is a Winchester .22 WRF, Model 90-22 WRF, Serial Number 305XXX. It has a folding rear peep sight, and curved butt stock.

hello,,his first model 1890 was made ilate 1912 and should be a third model. book value is 250 poor to 2000 exc and 2 grades avalible,,the other one is a 2nd model and records before 1908 serial#330000 are incomplete so it was made prior to 1908... there are 3 grades a blued frame model ,a case colored model,,and a delux model,,with only slight options differenes,,the standard model has the case colored frame and values are 500 poor to 6000 excelent,, being these values are high a expert appraisal is nessasary before sale or for insurance purposes,,oh heres a little history on the 1890s and the 22 wrf versions ,this cartridge was designed especially for the 1890 winchesters,,and the design is from John and Mattew browning,,

Thanks much for info. Once I get both rifles cleaned up, I will pursue showing them around to check further into their value. I am sure neither rifle is in excellent condition, and I doubt they could be classed as good condition. Thanks again for getting me started.
