trying to decide what to do with a Model 12 16ga solid rib but I don't want to harm a piece that a collector would value more than myself. I believe it to be a standard grade, 28"barrel, full choke. Bluing is well worn but the metal is not marked. The wood has a few handling marks, but could easily be refinished and show no marks. The gun is tight, appears to have been carried a lot, but shot very little. It is fun to shoot skeet with but I am thinking of opening/choking the barrel to something beside full and/or refinishing it. I do not collect guns and will turn it into a skeet gun if I keep it. Any advice on value and/or course of action would be appreciated.

hello,,your md 12 wuld value between 300-450 to a collector ,,so if your into skeet shooting i'd go for it ,,a good gunsmith should be able to choke it the way you want it,,and if you keep it ...why not.. "have it your way",,lol

,,i have an old md 11 remington that was about in the same condition yours sounds like it's in that i traded a guy some 223 ammo for ,,yea it's worth 200-250 to a collector or i hear that turkey shooter like them ..but i cut it down and made a faux trench gun outa it for my home defence gun and i like it ,,sure it's not a collectors item but it's "MY" way now ..lol..lol.. go for it ! theres alot of md 12's out there and 1 less in the collectors market isn't going to hurt anyone ..and ya can't retire from it with the prices there selling for these days !!,,just my opinion mind ya ..
