I am sending this info in hopes of getting an approx value of my Walther.
It was purchased from a pawn shop in Reno NV. on July 25, 1967 for $93.68 (not a typo) tax included. I have the sales receipt, original box, owners manual, target, and two clips.
The gun is blue steel appears to me in excellent condition. It has the following marks: Left Side Carl Walther Waffenfabrix ULM/DO, under that Modell pp-cal 9mm kurz, a eagle over the letter N. Below the clip release Made in West-Germany.
Right side: On the frame an eagle with the letter N underneath, and the serial number 23383A. Visable through the eject port is the number 66 over some antler thing and a eagle, with the serial number 23383.
This is the best description I can offer, it is not for sale now, but I'm thinking that way.

Thank you for your input. But I don't believe the model P1 is the same as the one I have. I don't know what more information I can give you about this gun.

family has the same exact model, ser# 257xxA,
other marking are as you described, carrier is marked 67. walther pp col 9mm kurz. blued.

don't know the value, and am mostly interested in finding the year of manufacture. gun shop said it could be traced by serial number, by contacting walther. i'm not sure if they meant the german company, or if smith & wesson is keeping their records now. would be nice to know the value if that can be ascertained.
ours is 100%, but firearm and one mag only.

we obviously have two weapons made not far apart.

From what I have learned in my research that number 67 denotes the year of manafacture. Walther's record keeping leaves much to be desired as far as tracing the story of your PP. I have not met anyone who has had success, There are some folks who have been lucky, I just haven't met them. But I wish you good luck in your research.

third post here six shooter, other two are above this one.

the link i posted from gunbroker would give you the value ... probably around 1100 for the pistol alone, used in excellent 95+%, condition. I found almost everything else on the Walther's back story by clicking the other queries on pp's and ppk's right here on this site, including a couple ppk forums. yours is clearly a 1966, and mine the 1967. made in germany, pre-68 us law changes. check the gunbroker link, his tale on a perfect specimen is informative.

now does any thing like kelly's blue book exist for firearms? it surly does.

Your pistol is a Walther Model PP. It's considered to be a "German" Walther but it was actually manufactured in France by Manhurin before being sent to Ulm, Germany, where the slide was stamped with the Walther/Ulm logo and the gun was proof tested. If you have the box, paperwork, and it's in excellent condition it's worth about $750.
