We have recently come across a Winchester Model 1897 Repeating Firearm Model (#293...)that belonged to my wife's father. There is a wood patch in the stock and the sight is a white bead. We were curious as to what the value might be. The last patent date is Oct 30 1900.

hello ,,your md 97 winchester was made in1905 and valur would be 300 fair -around 500 good ,,the condition of yours might be somewhere in between.. depending on if everything but the stock is good ..stocks can be found but can be pricy for originals and then you would have to have the stocks refinished to match each other ,,and then the refinish factor comes into play and it may not raize the value from the one i gave you anyway..for a standard grade model 97..
