hello,,sounds like proably a md 1938 carcano ,,either a short rifle version or a TS carbine ,,these were the first rifles italy produced in the new 7.35 carcano round ,,although never really a big ticket with collectors they are starting to begin to raise in values for original examples ,,in todays military market a nice example will bring between 200-300,,and i've seen some really clean ones sell for over 300,,ammo is available and i beleive someone is making it again at a reasonable price,,they shoot fairly well and there action despite what some people think is actually pretty stroong,,the germans converted some of these late in the war to the 8mm mauser cartridge but theres alot of controversal disscussion on these conversions because of the way they were done ..
