hello,,your singer made 1911 a1 should be in the serial number block from S800001-S800500,,,,it should bear the J.K.C acceptance marks on the left side below the slide stop,,it should have a slightly dull blue finish with brown plastic grips,,the mag should be unmarked and blued ,,the hammer should be a wide spured variation and the slide stop, saftey, trigger and mainspring housing should be checkered... these are very rare variation of the 1911 models and only a handfull are known to still exist out of the original 500 made ,,there have been many fake or improved and reblued models and an expert appraisal is nessasary for insurance purposes,,the slide should be marked S.MFG.Co and Elizabeth,N.J.,U.S.A.,,condition jumps leaps and bounds as it goes up and book values put it at 9000 poor,,14000 fair,,17500good,,25000 vg and 36000in excellent condition ,,but again it should have an expert appraisal for correctness and actual value ,,collectors drool over original examples and prices are very acheivable at a good firearm auction with other fine and hard to find 1911 pistols like the rock island firearms auctions ,,

hello to todd ,,singer didn't make m1 carbines,,you need to check the markings again ,,you may think it's marked singer but may in fact be either saganaw or standard products ,,this is sometimes very hard to see because of the replacement rebuild rear sites that usually cover the makers name ..makeing it hard to read the full name ,,
