I have a remington 700...that's all that's imprinted on it. There's no P, CDL, BDL, etc. I'm thinking its an older model 700. The caliber is 7mm mag and in good condition. Just some minor rusting on the barrel that should clean up easily. If anyone can suggest means for finding potential value of this thing, or maybe even provide some sort of pricing range for it, I sure would appreciate it.

From the code on the barrel, it appears to have been made in September 1993.

hello,,the remington model 700 is a very good rifle and it has value,,the 7mm magnum caliber is very popular also,,too tell the differance between the adl and bdl look at the stock by the triggerguard is there a metal floorplate in front of the trigger guard ,,or is it wood in front of the guard? next thing is condition you said theres light rust on the barrel,,some 000 or 0000 steelwool and some light 3in one oil will proably clean that up don't use anything heavier than 000 though and it shouldn't hurt the finish..and don't rub in circles ,,go with the lenght of the barrel back and forth and only enough to take off the rust you talked about..for value heres what i'd say,,if you want to sell it and be rid of it ask 350.00,,and you shouldn't have any problem getting that price if you clean it up a little ,,as for actual value it's worth in good condition 350 and if it cleans up good it could go as high as 600 and mabey a little more depending if it's the adl or bdl model and the wood is decent and not all beat up ,,i don't know what part of the country your in but some parts will bring the higher prices and some will be closer to the first price i gave you ,,i'm on the east coast and around here i see used 700's in the 300-400 price range in gunshops or at gunshows,,out west where you have more seasons for hunting and bigger game you proably would see them in the 400-600 range,,retail for one new is around 600-800 these days,,older models will sell good if there in decent condition,,so i'd try and clean it up and either put an add in a local paper or free add bargin paper,,dealers will proably offer around 200 for it at a gunshop,, especially if you take it in rusty and crusty,,or if you just want rid of it you could donate it to ME..lol..lol..i promise i'll give it a good home,,lol,,lol,

Geepers I really appreciate you taking the time to send such a complete response back. I do want to move the rifle to a good owner so will clean it up and go for about 400. Thanks again. By the way....donate it to you.....I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks again.
