The Secret Behind The Luger

Have you known that the luger which is so identified with the Germans in WWI and especially with the Nazi’s in WWII was created with the American Army in mind?

I certainly didn’t. As it turns out his creator was an American named Luger. Luger took the main points of criticism that were herd regarding the C-93 pistol, a pistol created by the German born Hugo Borchardt that arrived America when he was 16 and fixed them to create the Luger.

Even after all the changes the Luger lost the American army contact for the Colt 1911 and ended up with the German army.
