Speaking of Tanfoglio handguns,(and 10mm Auto in another thread) what's the story on this 'FAR' system? Anybody have any experience with these cartridges?

'The FAR System is a new ammunition concept for semiautomatic pistol. It is not simply a new serie of calibers but a very new ammunition system.
Infact, you need to manufacture new pistols in order to accept the 9mm and 10mm FAR ammunitions. The 9mm and 10mm FAR are similar to the existing 9mm and 10mm calibers but they have a completely different case that is much thicker than the traditional one.
The case thickness allows the use of a fixed barrel on the pistols that are using a Browning-Petter system. In this way, there is an advantage in machining the slide and the barrel while the feeding and the ejection of the spent case is much more reliable because the barrel is always in the same position. This is possible because the head of the case is thicker; in the time needed for extracting the case, the bullet leaves the barrel with a consequent fall of the pressure before the case is ejected.
The advantages of the FAR-System, patented worldwide by Arch. Antonio Cudazzo are: more velocity, more precision and reliability (Fast-Accurate-Reliable). The Tanfoglio models chambered in cal. 9mm and 10mm FAR are the first pistols in the world that use the new 'FAR System'.'
