I recently purchased a Stevens Savage 5100 double barrel 12 gauge shotgun form an old farmer for $150. There is no serial number but there is what looks like an 18A or 48A in a circle just above trigger gaurd. I was hoping to find out more information about this beauty. I have no idea what year it was made or if I over or underpaid. I would hate to have ripped off a fellow farmer. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Vinnie

hi vinnie,
From what i can find you got one heck of a deal, the 5100 is the same as the savage 311 double. If you break it down the SN should be where the barrel breaks on the inside of the receiver. Value will be in the $250 - $400 range depending on condition. IMHO
