This one my brother in law gave me. It comes from my wife's Grandfather's gun collection. He was a a Fleet Admiral in the Navy and had a huge gun collection. I think it is from the 60's and is very good condition. The blue is almost perfect. SN A422838

What year would this have been made and how much might this be worth?

It is actually on the top of each of the side by side barrels just before where the barrels break - one is 22X and the other is 21X.

vg stands for "very good" condition,,nib stands for "new in box" condition,,exc = "excellent" condition, everyone see's conditions differently and your good could be vg to me or could be fair,,there just general conditions used for valueing firearms ,,to be very good a gun would have to be 80-90% original finishes ,,no alterations and be in good working condition with no missing peices or cracks in wood with original blueing,,nib would be as i came from the factory 100% original and fired very little if any,,with box and original factory paperwork that came with the gun..then maybe you may even see "mib" which means "mint unfired"never used in original box with paperwork,,
