Used. Very little in fact. PISTOL
Model Number XD40 (subcompact)
Caliber .40 S/W
Condition of the metal surface. Minimal bluing near end of barrel. No rust. All black, no wood. No chips, not broken. Round barrel. Standard magazine as well as extended grip magazine; I believe 10 and 12 rounds.
Purchased new. Have case that comes with Springfield Xd belt holster, speed loader, the two magazines and a magazine holder for the two magazines and a lock.
I would like a different gun. The grip seems to small for me on this one and the recoil is a bit much.
Your XD Sub-Compact pistol is valued at $425 if it has 98% of the original finish remaining. That is assuming it has the standard sights, not tritium sights.
Since you have all the stuff that came with the gun, you might start a little higher and give yourself some mental room to come down.
These are fairly new and popular guns, but there are bazillions of them out there in various configurations. So to sell a used one, you will have to be a bit off the current MSRP, which is about $550.
Also - if recoil and grip size are the main issues for you, you might try trading up to the full size XD. The XD(M) comes with interchangeable grip panels so you can more or less custom fit the grip to your hand. And the recoil is a lot less severe with the longer barrel and slide. It's worth considering. The XD is a fine gun and the .40 S&W is a great cartridge.
I appreciate the rapid response. The grip is a concern for me, but in the aspect of too small.
I need a slightly larger grip, but not so much the gun. I would like a carry pistol, which the XD40 did for me, but with a bit of bulk. I have been looking into the P250 of Sig, both sub and compact...I like them both...
But, the sub is too small of a grip again for me and the compact has a nice grip, nice gun.. but, about the same size as the XD, therefore too big.
I am just at a loss as to what to do. The XD was my first pistol ever and I liked the safety on it as well as some other options as well. Sig seems to be my latest endeavor but I am finding a struggle as well with size and grip.
I stopped at our local gun shop today, and found the P250 they had. Both, sub-compact and compact (larger). I like BOTH guns very much, but for me..the sub-compact was a good SIZE gun for carry but, the grip was a bit too small (but not by much)...and the compact was a great gun - and I would have bought it on the spot if it wasn't about the same size as my XD - which to me is a bit above conceal carry size.
I am new to firearms, and am going into law enforcement. I have also heard that the .45 has less recoil for some reason than the .40 does...but, less ammo as a down fall.
