hello,,is your rifle a 30-06 or one of the 22 cal sporters? if a 30-06 model they were made from 1924-1933 and 6500 rifles were made in that time frame,, current value for a correct and unaltered example would be in the 1400 fair -2200 vg range ,,but alot of springfields were converted to sporter configuration and all must be verified by a qualified apraiser and must fall into the serial number range associated with the original nra sporter numbers range,

I purchased two Springfield NRA Sporters last year. One is a 95% rifle, fully authenticated, for which I paid about $5,700. The other is a 99% refinished rifle which had had a sight dovetail cut into the barrel for which I paid about $1,400.

I also have a M2 Springfield for which I paid $150 - about 40 years ago.

What wulkd be the serial number range for nra sporters? Have you heard of an original 35 whelen version?

Untill recently I had not but there was a posting on gunbroker last week for a 35 whelen supposedly made at SA for Col. whelen. I have not seen their research to support this. Does anybody have anything to add.
