Somebody just gave me a Winchester model 37A 12 ga 2 3/4 - 3" chamber single shot with gold trigger. Any idea on value? It has a LOT of rust.

hello ,,anytime someone gives you a gun thats a good deal whatever it's worth,,the md 37 in good condition would value around 200-250,,,i don't know how bad it's rusted but rust can be cleaned off if you have access to a bench grinder with a wire wheel fairly easily or you could take it to a gunsmith and have it professionally restored but cost may be more than the shotgun is actually worth for a professional restoration,,depending how deep the rust is to remove the rust and do a complete reblue could cost a couple hundred bucks +or- depending how much prep work is needed before reblueing and if ya spend 200 on a refinishing and the value is 300 exc then depending how nice the gunsmiths work is then how far ahead are you ?,,i worked at a gunshop and got a chance to see gunsmiths work when it came to reblueing and some are very good and some do a shoddy job ,,and once done theres no going back ..if you'd like to try it yourself and just clean it up try some 000 or 0000 steel wool with a light oil and use back and forth motions and see if that will clean it up,,or i could give a couple other ways to try if if ya want ,,just let me know ..
