$200 is a little much it depends on what kind u want, the russian sks will run u a bit more but u will be better off with any chinease sks, the rifling is a little worse but it will still stop a intruder in his tracks.
for a used chinease sks be prepared to pay $80-$150. i wouldnt pay any more than that...hope that helps a little. u wont be dissapointed with a sks. have fun when u buy it

wow at 80 bucks pick me up a crate!!around my parts i haven't seen an sks for under 300 bucks for some time chinese or russian,,last 3 shows i was at chinese were all in the 300-350 price range,,and the last russian one i saw was 400...unless your talking about the yugo ones and there a crapshoot at best to pick a good one, unless you order a hand select or unissued around 200 in my part of the world!!but sks's are very reliable weapons and i've owned every model but the russian version,,only problem i've every had was an occasional stovepipe from time to time

Bought a matching numbers, still in the cosmo, with ONE round fired for 251.41 out the door. Pawnshop owner said he didn't know how many he'd had in that had only fired one round and jammed because the cosmo wasn't cleaned out first. Shoots like a dream! It took nearly 4 hours to get all the gunk out.

Depends where you live in the country what the going price is. I paid $190.00 for mine with a few zipper clips. I forgot to check the OEM field cleaning kit in the but until I got home and found it was missing so I could have used that to barter the price more. I would L O V E to buy some relatively good condition Chinese SKS rifles for $80 each because I could EASILY turn $50 - $100 profit on each one here.

NOTE THIS; If your SKS does not come with a bayonet with a matching serial number or you do not have documentation showing the date of import or have not researched the import date, it may be illegal for you to install a bayonet on your rifle. Some SKS's were imported as hunting rifles and did not have a bayonet so Uncle Sam passed a law making it illegal to install a bayonet on a SKS under certain conditions (I don't remember the dates and specifics off hand). It's a stiff fine and possible vacation at Uncle Sam's expense if, that's a big if, somehow you were owner of the right SKS that you installed a bayonet on. Unless the law has changed, it isn't illegal to sell bayonets for those certain SKS's, it isn't illegal to own a bayonet for these, but to install them is. Don't take my word for it though, search it for yourself.

If you are not an FFL and you are planning on buying rifles to sell for profit then you will be in violation of the law, just a heads up. Correct info you gave on the bayonet though.

I paid $120.00 for mine about 20 yrs ago. It came with 3 stripper clips, bayonet, 2 boxes ammo. It was still in cosmo and has matching serial numbers on all parts.(rare) I use to teach small arms classes in the military and have taken it to the M60 machinegun range and have knocked down pop up targets at 1000 meters with it. I also have killed several deer with it over the yrs. For mine I wouldn't take less than $400.00 for it. But then I'm not planning on selling it either.

I think that bayonet rule has expired.

No, an sks still has to be 922 compliant. Under many conditions, if it come with a bayonet it is illegal to remove it.

No chinese sks can be C & R either, since China refuses to release their manufacturers codes.

Hi guys. I just purchased a Chinese SKS with DP serial number and all matching numbers. Plus all the original goodies with it for 250 bucks! Was it worth it?

mr.diablo - in todays market any SKS for $250 is a fair price.

Years ago (mid to late 80's) I purchased them for around $69 - those days are LONG GONE.

Regards,
Rob
