I amd currently reloading some .45 LC and think it would be fun and useful around the farm to have some .45 LC shot shells. I am using Winchester 231 and 571 powders also Clays. If anyone has some ideas please let me know. Thanks mike

If anyone has some ideas # please let me know. # Thanks mike # I think you can get plastic shot capsules from Speer. Another suggestion I've seen here is to use gas checks. Seat one down on the powder charge, add shot, put another check over the load and crimp the case mouth over it.

I have no clue as to what sort of powder charge to use for that application. I've scrounged up some gas checks for my .44 and was thinking about trying that out just to see how well it worked.

It's also a pretty neat cartridge to impress friends who don't know you are using a shot load) by blowing plastic soda bottles, etc. out of the air.
