Serial no. 194289 remington colt 45

the serial no on my gun is 194289 it is a remington hand gun bought at an auction on a whim because somebody told me it may be WWI era.....anybody know anything about this serial no?

hello your 1911a1 was made in 1944 and prices would be a between 1000good -1500 exc for correct and original as issued pistols ,,it should have the remington address with new york in small text when compared to the earlier text size on 1942-43 made pistols ,,also finish should be a parked over sand blasted finish ,,
