I don't know much about this gun. It is a lever action savage, with a 5 round internal mag. The barrel is octagon the length of the stock. It is a .303 and in good condition and I believe it is a model 1894. All markings are in the attached photo. If anyone has any info on this I would much appreciate it, such as exact model, rarity and/or approx. value.

it appeares to be a 1899 model,,you didn't give a serial number so can't really be sure without it which model it is ..

The problem with the serial number is that the first two and last character of it have been filed away, what remains is XX6.33X It may have only been 5 numbers i can't tell for sure if the first one was filed or just didn't exist.

I do not know anything about Savage rifles. I collect Winchesters. That said it sure looks like that barrel has been reblued. The flats are the same color as the angle high spots and the lettering has been buffed away in a few spots. In addition the change in angle is way to rounded, They should be more crisp and sharp. Like the photo. Whatever you do, do not pay original condition value for that rifle. That is my opinion based on one photo.
