I have a savage 1899 303 savage. The sn is 4826. It has a 1/2 round and 1/2 octogon barrel. I would like to know the year it was made, and an est on value.
Thank you

hello ,the serial number you gave is a first year production 1899 and a very valuable model 99,,depending on condition and if it hasn't been altered with a scope mount it should easily be worth between 1000-2000+ in good or better condition,,it might be a good idea for someone more knowledgable in 99's to do a hands on apraisal for insurance purposes..and sure to only raise more in value as time goes on!

your savage may very well be a 1895 because of the 4 digit serial number, does the reciever top slide have a hole near the front? when cocked the letter c will show, when fired the letter s will show. if it has this then the gun is a 1895 manufactured by marlin for savage hope this info will help. suitty/

It does have a whole with those markings.
would this increase or diminish the value
because it was made by abother company?
