how do I find the true value? great condition
also has brass part on the inside. Has a redfield dial in sight, I was told that they do not make ammo for it anymore? Is that true?
It also says .303 savage SP. Any help, from anyone would be great. Have a peaceful day everyone.

your savage was made in 1935 judging from the serial number you provided,,values for it would be in the 600-800+ depending on the grade and model you have ,,a hands on appraisal would be a good idea as some of the prewar savages can go as high as 1500+.. but without seeing it or checking it for correctness it would be impossible to give an exact value,,the brass peices your talking about would proably be the rotory mag cartridge counter that should be visable from the left side,,ammo for it is available for but may be a bit pricy but still a good hunting cartridge for deer sized game,,try a search for 303 savage online and you should find some ,,you can look at some auction prices for your gun and also ammo on auction sites such as gunbroker.com or auctionarms.com, and this may give you a better idea as to prices these rifles and the ammo are selling for ..

Hey, thank you very much for the info. You have been very helpful. I've heard all kinds of stories and a gun shop offered me 200-500, without seeing it.
Thanks again
Brian

I have a Savage Model 99 bearing serial #689645. Any idea of the date/year of manufacture? I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide on this issue.
Regards,

hello,,your savage was made in 1903 so i'ts proably seen some use ,,these were good old guns and i've seen some that were well used and still going ..value for it in fair condition as long as it shoots and has sound stocks would still be around 300-500 bucks to a 99 collector,,

The stock has been broken, and repaired with a piece of tin around the top porton of the stock. Thanks for your information.
