I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk 357. Magnum that was left to me by my father a few years ago. I fired it for the first time this week.

I'm curious to the value of this gun. I have no intentions of selling, but have had some offers since I finally fired it and some friends fired it. I'm not sure of the production date, but I do know it's at least 20 years old and maybe much older. It has the "New Model" on the barrel and is "silver" with wood on the grip. I would guess the barrel to be 5".

Besides the value of the gun, is there any way I can find the production date with the serial number?

i would say your super blackhawk would be in the 300-500 range in very good condition for a private sale or at auction..dealers would proably offer around the 225-300 range for it ..as for the age you can go to rugers site and they can provide the manufacture date and even a free manual ..
