can you tell me the retail value of this pistol. it has 2 small rust spots on external surface of barrel other than that it appears in good shape.bluing is in good shape no wear seen from holster wear.pistol does shoot and function as it should.owner wants 500.00$ i think that is way too much money for this pistol. what would be a reasonable offer to him?

hello ,,500 for a standard lenght blued model mk2 with standard features is way too high,,NIB there only 350..and if it's used i'd be hard pressed to offer 250 for it without a box ,,i bought a mk 2 about 2 yrs ago for 150 out the door with the box ,,look around and even check out gunbrokers.com and see what there bringing at auction ,,if you find one ya want most gun dealers will let ya bid and buy it and charge ya a slight fee of between 10-20% of cost for receiving it ,,then you send the seller the money and a copy of his ffl and he send the pistol directly to your dealer and you do the paperwork and check just like you were buying it off him,,save ya some money that way and eliminate the high priced dealer altogether and proably get a better gun in the long run,,just my opinion..i just looked and gunbrokers have some over there ,,heres 1 that looks pretty nice withthe bull barrel and adjustable site for 315 and a stainless model to boot ,,when ya get there search either ruger mk2 or mkII or just ruger and see what ya find ,,also check auction arms,,and search the same phrases ,,heres the one on gunbrokers .. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp? Item=142848622 no sence wasteing you money..
