I have an older Ruger singlesix .22 cal revolver. I have no idea what year it is. It has 408866 stamped on the right side above the front of the trigger gaurd. Other than that there are no other distinguishing markings , other than " RUGER .22 CAL SINGLE-SIX" on the left side above trigger and , "STURM , RUGER & CO. SOUTHPORT, CONN., USA " on top of the barrell. I am just looking to get a ballpark value on it , if anyone has an idea it would be much appreciated.

Thanks , Austin Gunn Sr.

hi dramaoner,
you have an older (three screw) model ruger, value should be in the 350 - 400 range, you can contact ruger and they'll send you a box to ship it in and correct the problem of having to keep an empty chamber, they'll do a great job, it comes back looking new and since it's a recall there's no cost what so ever to you.. personally i've got two older 3 screw models that i'm going to keep just as they are. just thought you like the info.

Ruger has a general list of the #'s that have manuf. dates that corraspond. A little research goes a long way in investigating a firearm's value.

OK...a little more info for those looking to get a "year" on their Ruger. ruger-firearms.com, ask Ruger, FAQ's, select general ?'s, then look for the "can you tell me the manfu. date if I tell you the serial #" question. You will be taken to a directory of firearm typs...select yours & match them up!

Go to Rugar Web site and at the bottom go to Contact. Here you can post an online question. My revolver with a serial number starting with 34XXXX was manufactured in November of 1964.
