hello,,you have a nice rossi pistol there but unfourtunatly yes guns are like new cars ,,as soon as you buy one ..there used ,,even if it's unfired it's still used ,,and prices reflect used gun values,,markup is what usually hurts the value of a used gun,,in other words heres how it goes,,you said you bought your pistol for 375.00 a couple years ago,,well ya paid more then than the pistol was actually worth ,,whoever you got it from had it marked up at least 100 bucks from the price he actually paid for it,,all dealers do it and when they get there cataloges from there distributors the price in them are there possible retail "sell for prices" there actual prices are usually much lower than the retail price listed ,,so your actually paying more than the guns worth to start for..but thats the way they stay in busieness ,,they have to make money ..but if you go back in there shop and tell them you want to sell it back to them ,,they'd mabey offer you 200 more or less for it..and proably less,,even though you paid 375 for it they know what it's worth (used)..rossi is a good firearm but it's not one of the big names ,,and at 1 time before they started being made by taraus .. rossi pistols were of lessor quality then the us produced higher priced pistols and a used rossi's could be had for around a hundred bucks,,they have improved there quality over the past 10 years and there pistols are better made now BUT there still a "rossi",,and most people don't pay preimum prices for them especially used ones ,and current book value for one in mint condition new in box is 300 and id say that would be for a private sale ,,like i said earlier a dealer may offer between 150-200 for it cash or trade in ..and thats proably if you've been a good customer to him ,,if not those prices would proably be lower..more like 100-125 ,,if ya take it ok ..if not thats ok too.. because somebodys comming in.. when your walking out,,and beleive it or not ,,you'd be surprised how many people will take the price because they want something different or need the cash!!when you buy again shop around and even look online over at gunbrokers.com and check out the prices both new and used before you pay more than you should,,then when you go into a shop to buy a gun you'll be prepared! and know what simular guns are selling for..and have a bargaining chip on your side,,
