I have an M1 Carbine made by Rockola. It appears to be in 98% condition, with very, very minor wear and a perfect stock. I suspect it was an arsenal rebuild, but the serial numbers are all correct for a Rockola. I've been saving it to sell on a rainy day, and it's been raining a lot on my checking account lately! Since I don't have a current Blue Book I'm hoping someone can give me a feel for what a fair price from my local gun store might be. Thanks for your time!

hello ,,your carbine is a good one ,,and a local gunshop is the last place i'd go to try to sell it unless you want to give it away!!they might offer you 400-500..but if you sell it online you might see 1000+,,check out gunbrokers .com and see what kinda prices rock's sre selling for ,,just search m1 carbine there and you should get a surprise ,,rockolas were made by the jukebox people and i haven't seen many around these days ,,if as correct and not an import gun you shouldn't have a problem at 1000-1500,,even if it's a import gun you still should be able to see 800+,,so it would pay you to do some homework on this one

..You can sell online if you be sure to let the dealer or collector know in your listing that you will only ship and sell to a c+r or ffl dealer,,and the rifle is comming from a private collection..or you could let a local dealer do the actual shipping of your rifle for a fee ,, and you must get a licence copy from them before you ship..and only ship to the phisical address listed on the licence ,,there are many online forums this one included that you could list and sell the carbine on also and there wouldn't be selling fees.. if you chose this way to sell it ..But still make sure you send it or sell it to a dealer only..when dealing online don't take chances selling to someone you don't know without them first proving there a dealer..where are you located?i could help you with selling tips if you need any ,,just pm me if you need some pointers..

Thanks for getting back to me on the Rockola. I appreciate the fact that I could get more for it if I sell it online, and I may well do that, but this is a dealer I've worked with for years, and I'm giving him first crack at it. If he can't come close to what I want, which is at least a grand, online it will go.

I bought it from a Doctor who'd been collecting them for years, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have knowingly bought anything but the very best, so I'm reasonably confident this is exactly what it says it is, although it is in such remarkable condition I really think it must be an arsenal rehabilitation. The stock is just perfect, although it lacks any cartouches, and the finish is also nearly perfect.

I'll be sad to see it go, but I have bills to pay!

i know the feeling ,,i had asome nice rifles threw the years and seems like when something has to go it seems the toys are first,,lol,,it does sound like ya have a nice one ,,the standard catalog of military firearms list values for rocks as 700 good-1400 vg-2000exc,,this is about the only catalog dedicated to military firearms and i use it regularly,,

,,,your stock may have a arsenal code in the sling well ,,makers would mark there stocks there with usually a 2 letter code,,look on the left side where the sling would lay in the cut for letters,,may be hard to see or may stand out,,does it have a I cut or oval cut sling slot on the right side,,is it a m1 or m2 stock,,m2 is fatter in the front,,,,i'd say if it's as nice as ya say it is a grand shouldn't be a problem,,don't know if i'd go any less on a rock,,but thats up to you,,good luck with it,,
