hi jeriwert,
i've owned a 760 and it came drilled and taped for scope mounting, i put leopold mounts on mine although i've known people with the same rifle with weaver mounts that where cheaper and seemed to be just a funtional. if your's isn't drilled and taped i'ld advise having a gunsmith drill and tap it due to the presision required to get the scope mounted close to being on target. cost should be minimal and a small screw-up in drilling could all but ruin your rifle, or at the very least you could end up with more holes in the reciever than needed. JMHO
