I HAVE A REMINGTON 742 BICENTENNIAL WITH GOLD ENGRAVED EAGLE ON ONE SIDE WITH THE 1776-1976 ENGRAVED UNDERNEATH THE WINGS, EXCELLENT CONDITION, WAS WONDERING VALUE OF IT.
Unless it is in virtually like new condition, it will not have any extra value.
The Model 742 ended up being a big black-eye for Remington, and it ended costing them money before they pulled the plug on it. They are notorious for chewing up the internal bolt rails. Remington for years now has refused to repair or work on them.
I have one of these and the best luck I've had with the jamming and casings being chewed away is shooting reloaded fmj's no problem with them I can bust a clip off reload and over and over with no problems. When I run any store bought ammo after 2 shots it jams. Great gun other than that gun was passed down from my grandfather and he had rarely shot it.
