Remington 700 action

I am thinking of building a custom rifle and need a source for a Remington 700 action. Does anyone have any suggestions?

ADL plastic stock rifle at Walmart. The barrel and stock are 'throw aways'.

Look for a used gun being sold for parts. That's how I got an action for a custom Krag in 7mm x 57.

You have to buy a rifle (or barrelled action from Brownells) and then throw away the parts you don't need.

the only official source, other than buying a used one, is directly from Remington. of course, it will include a barrel, stock, and trigger group in the purchase price. Remington no longer sells bare actions to the public.

i think midway usa sells remington actions. your best bet is go to a gun show lookfor a rough looking rem. in most cases the previous owner hunted hard withit. there will be nothing wrong with the action then you will have the action trigger turn the old barrel off and replace with your custon barrel. then refinish the stock.

list the barrel on ebay lots of shooters like to change calibers . you failed to tell us what cal. you building. here's some good one 250 ackley, 243 ackley 280 ackley 22-250ackley 257 ackley all are good shooters
