The guns that i am listing had belonged to my father in law.He passed away on 6-3-09 and my wife is giving her sister some of the guns. The other guns that we aquired are a Remington model 700 .308 cal.in very good condition Serial# 6544718,a Browning Auto5 shotgun with a gold triger and a external choke in fair condition and a Enfield WW1 sporterized 30.06 which was a 303 british. It has a Leopold scope and is in fair condition for its age.Anyone have any idea of approximate value of these guns?Thank you.

hello ,,i'll try to give you some numbers on the values ,,first off the remington should have a date stamp on the barrel ,,it will be located on the left side of the barrel near where it meets the receiver and should be a letter code usually in a oval proably a 2 letter code possibly 3..that will date it ,,the 308 is a very popular caliber and value should be in the 400-600 range in good condition,,the auto 5 browning,,when you say external choke ,,do you mean a adjustable poly choke or are you talking about a cutts or lyman type screw on external choke? if the choke was an add on and not factory original which i beleive they never offered a external choke it will lower the value on this shotgun,,if you give us a serial i can proably give you a date on this one ,,any way value will range from proably around 300-500 as long as it's functional and complete and stocks are in good condition,,mabey a little higher depending on year and the choke issue,,and finnally the enfield,,you say it was a british 303 at some time in it's life ,,are you sure of this ?the us used the 1917 enfield and it was 30-06 originally,,the british used the p-14 but it was made here in the states for britian and it was chambered for the 303 caliber ,,you will find examples of both made by winchester remington and eddystone,,so make sure you don't just have a us version that was originally chambered for the 30-06 cartridge,,british guns will have british acceptance stamps that are usually stamped on the barrels and will have crowns or letters like bnp or bp above then ,,they will also be stamped with a pressure test number stamed in tons,,sporterized examples depend on how nice the job was done,,most of the time the ears were removed to facilatate scope mounting,,the enfield action is noted for it's strenght and many enfiedl actions are used in large caliber sporter projects because of the long magizine box capible of holding calibers up to 458win mag without major modifications,,you say it has a leopould scope mounted on it also,,if a nice sporter job with a decent stock and well done it would be worth proably around 250-450 without the scope,, a barreled action without wood alone will bring 175 for parts..the scope being a leoupold is proably worth around 200 alone and depending on the age of it mabey more so there ya go,, that gives ya a ballpark figure to work with..
