i have a remington 30 cal. 1906 . how do you know what model it is ?

hello,,how did you determine the 1906 part of your question? is it dated 1906? and where is it dated ?areouu sure it's not a 30-06? is this a military rifle or a sporter rifle ? can ya post a pic ? or provide a link to a pic ? maybe we can help ya with a model but we need more info on the markings ,,post them exactly as there written on the rifle ,,that may help also,,the 30-06 caliber was introduce in 1906 ,,thats how the designation 30-06 came into use it broke down like this 30 caliber and intro 1906 thus "30-06" became the terminology,,

Best guess is it's a model 8 in Remington .30. They were introduced in 1906. Does the barrel have a big tube around it? Bolt is a round mushroom shaped thing? Sheet metal receiver?
