hello,,limited run guns in my opinion are novelties that are just fancy standard guns ,,some go up because of the theme around them and some don't,,so it's a shot in the dark weather this one will climb in value or stay around the value it was made to sell for ,,most of the DU guns were special runs for DU groups and clubs ,,so theres only so many shooters who will collect them just as a DU limited run gun,,
,,I'm not in any way saying that DU isn't a worth while group of sportsman but the DU guns are not any better shooters than a standard 11-87 preimere grade remington shotgun,,and if your going to keep it in the box and not use it then it will raise in value some each year but never be a high end collectable ..the way i see it ,,not too many refrence books even list DU special run guns because the value for them is around the same as the standard models most of the times..so with that in mind a special grade 11-87 preimere books for 700-800 NIB so i'll estimate that thats a good price for a DU 11-87,,but for insurance purposes id estimate the value at 1000 just because it might be hard to replace it with an exact DU gun,,
