There should be matching serial numbers on the bottom of the receiver and the barrel assembly. Your number indicates manufacture in 1946.

That is SO much better. Yes most of the receiver blue is gone. The barrel and magazine look pretty good though. The rear sight is a flip type. I have a rifle with one just like it

On the bottom of the receiver (just behind where the action breaks) should be a number followed by a letter in a circle. The letter designates the year. A=1949, B=1950 and so on.
