Hi gang, I have the choice of several 'brands' of 55gr FMJ ammo for my AR-15, In what order would the group rate the following choices?
Wolf Sellier & Bellot Winchester Q3131 Israeli manufacture Remington UMC IMG made to NATO spec. South African surplus Federal / Lake City NATO M193
Here is my ranking (a few of the choices I haven't tried and have to rate from discussion with others), discussion / comments welcome
1 Federal / Lake City NATO M193 2 Winchester Q3131 Israeli manufacture 3 Sellier & Bellot 4 IMG made to NATO spec. 5 South African surplus 6 Wolf 7 Remington UMC
Some will disagree with my putting Wolf above UMC, but at least the wolf can hold a group and an American manufacturer should be ashamed of such, in my experience, inaccurate ammo. Although not a 55 gr FMJ and probably to frangible for anything over a prairie rat, I have found the Winchester USA 45gr JHP 40 rd value pack to be shockingly accurate from any gun I have shot it.

All the brands you've mentioned are good ones. My suggestion is this. By as many samples of each that you can, shoot them through your rifle, and you decide which one you like the best. Remember, in the area of personal ammo choice, the only opinion that counts is yours.
