i am looking at getting a long colt 1871-1872 .45 open top revolver. question is how do i tell if its a real one or a knock off? it has a low serial number but says stoeger-accokeek md-a uberti italy on the barrel and 2237 on the revolver itself.somebody please help!!! thank you

hello ,,yes it's a knock off,,but on the flip side of this coin ,,from what i've herd they are made on colt machienery to pretty exact specs uberti is a well known italian gun maker and makes some fine repodyction firearms in both black powder and cartridge firearms..and many cowboy shooters use them..so quality is 100% but they can be a bit pricy for repro's in my opinion ..

thank you for taking the time to get back to me.i like the gun and it looks pretty slick.the guy who is selling it wants $500 for it and it comes with a case,belt,and about 75 rounds.in your opinion do you think it would be worth that price? thanks again buddy
