hello,,nice turkey!,,well for your rifles the 1896 i'll guess is the 74847 serial number gun and these were made in rifle configuration with a 30" barrel and a carbine model with a 22" barrel ,,yours could be either or ,,with your serial number ,,values (IF) in original military configuration (not cutdown or sporterized ) and with the original wood and metal parts could range from750 fair-around 3000 to a military collector ,,"sporterized as a hunting rifle mabey between 300-450 depending how nice a job was done
,,the 1898 model could also be a rifle or carbine ,,same barrel lenghts apply as the 1896 and this one in original condition would range from 450 fair for the rifle to around 1200 or 750 fair -2500 for the carbine,,and again for sporterized model the above altered prices would be true,,
,,one has a redfeild site so i'm gonna say it's been sporterized,,you didn't say which had the redfield ,,,,the other you say is on the bolt ,,i'm guessing you mean the sites on the barrel,, this one may be somewhat original and if so the military prices would come into play ,,as long as it is or could be returned to original configuration ,,and extra holes for scopes non military sites or anything drops the value down to military collectors ,,
