Hi all, new here and tried the search function first but didn't find what I was looking for. I'd like to know the value and rarity of a couple of Winchester Model 70 rifles I'm looking to sell. As the title states, these are all new in the box, all tags attached, unfired, with original boxes in excellent condition. They look like they were just purchased as they were stored with care. There are three in all:

1) Model 70 XTR Featherweight in .270
2) Model 70 XTR Featherweight in .308
3) Model 70 Westerner in .243 with a Weaver Marksman scope that came in a separate box inside the rifle box.

I believe them to be a mid-80's production and will update this thread with the serial number range if it makes a major impact on the value based on dates of manufacturer. They have the wood stocks with the black tipped forend.

Any information you can provide with regard to their value is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

hello and welcome aboard ,,winchester model 70's have and will proably always be a highly sought after rifle ,,some people will say there the best and smoothest bolt action rifle ever made..The older model 70 (pre 1964) bring the most money but the later model 70 are dstill a great collectable and make fine hunting rifles non the less,,values for post 64 models in box would be in the 500-700 range and mabey more at the right auction with the right description to a collector.. your first 2 featherweights seem pretty common but are in very popular calibers especially the 308 model,,the 270 was a very common caliber and intrest may be less just because of the common caliber,,the westerner is kinda unusual in the fact that it's in 243,,my books list 2 calibers 264win mag and 300 win mag and it's listed as made from 1964-1971.. this one may be very collectable to a model 70 collector .. so if you can give us the serial numbers and x out the last 3 digits because they may be older than you think they are..
