Hello gun experts. I am new here and need help valuing multiple shotguns and a couple rifles that were given to me by my father.

I would appreciate any help you could give me in regards to the value of his collection.

The first shotgun of interest is a Winchester Model 1897. 16 gauge. ser # 707865.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Kim. Sorry for the late reply.

Looks like the ser # is not in the usual place, it's on the underside of the trigger assembly and it's the only number I see stamped.

Looks like an older model Winchester.

it looks like your serial number puts year of manufacture on your 97 as 1921 and depending on the condition it would be valued at 450 good-800 in excellent condition for a standard model,,mabey a little more if extra nice ,,but there were 4 different grades available in 16 ga and all may be more in value but without a hands on look it would be almost impossible to determine which grade you have without more details or seeing it..a dealer may offer 200-300 for it

Thanks big curt.

just gave this gun to my bro-in-law who just got back from iraq (second tour).

he has helped save over fifty of our critically injured soldiers. he is a critical care surgeon and operated in balad, iraq. he gets the sickest of the sick.

no more deserving fellow.
