I don’t DIY my own ammo, but I know that a lot of you do. Like any other type of minuscule tasks the agronomy of this can make or break your ability to do it, as well as the enjoyment involved.

I found this great video on Anthroblogogy. Dirtcrashr, the auther of anthroblogogy makes his own cases, and has run into all kinds of difficulties that he expands on in this post. He recons that this video fixes them all. So if you are into making your own  ammo - hop over and read.

I am sure I am not alone in my thoughts that this is shocking. The Armed School Teacher said

Not good . . . I hate Nazis. You have to figure this one isn’t too bright, even if you set aside his irrational Jewz-hating, because if he’d wanted to figure out the best way to build sympathy for Jews in America and bury his own movement in an even deeper hole than before, he couldn’t have come up with many better ways. Doing what Buford Furrow did would be one.

I’ve got to agree with him 100%. There is something wrong with gun laws if a man like that can get his hands on a weapon, were as upstanding citizens can’t.

What do you do when the power suddenly fails and you find yourself in the pitch dark with a feeling that not all is well?

Due to the recent surge of violent home invasions that include the invaders cutting the power and the phone lines before they invade, the answer to this question should be rethought - and looking out the window to see if the neighbours have lights or not, or going to check the mains might no longer be the smartest and most called for move.

Expert witness says

The instant the lights go out, TASK ONE is to get hold of a firearm. This will be done before looking out the window to see if the power outage is neighborhood-wide, or much more limited. Second, firearm, flashlight, and cell phone are taken to our “keep” area. Use of lights will be kept to a minimum. We keep a careful listening watch for what the dogs do. THEN, we’ll check to see if this is happenstance or evil design.

Taking into consideration that the invaders will have the element of surprise on their side, it is probably wise at least to keep your cell on you at all times, and to make sure that there is a flash light next to your fire arm.

Another precaution that can be taken is haveing emergency lights up (the kind that turn on the moment the power fails) so that the invaders will only have the cover of partial darkness, instead of the freedom to move in the cover of pitch black.

Have you heard of this case?

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Police say a woman shot her husband multiple times after he threatened to kill family members.

On Tuesday at about 4 a.m., Winter Haven police responded to the home of Troy and Dawn Christoff located at 1121 7th Street SW following a report of a shooting.

Officers found 34-year-old Troy Christoff suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He had been shot with a 9mm handgun. He was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center for treatment. The shooter was identified as his wife, 35-year-old Dawn Christoff.

Witness statements and further investigation showed that Troy Christoff intended to shoot several members of his family. Before the shooting, he armed himself with a handgun and began to load the weapon, stating which member of his family each bullet was intended for.

When the handgun was loaded he raised the weapon and pointed it at his wife, who had armed herself with another handgun. She fired multiple shots at her husband, striking him several times.

Troy Christoff was charged with five counts of Attempted First Degree Murder with a Firearm. The shooting is considered as self defense.

Its good that she had a gun, though I can’t help wondering how good it is that he had a gun, and if the whole situation couldn’t have been avoided.

I am not a cop. In fact, I don’t think that there was even a second in my mind that that had passed through as a possibility (although the boots are super cool). Not that I have a problem with those that chose to be policemen or in law enforcement, on the contrary - Someone needs to be out there keeping the peace, and since its not going to be me - I am glad that there are others that step up to the plate.

You might be wondering how come I am going on about being a cop, and a traffic one at that - well, I can only blame Cowtown Cop, for writing an extremely amusing post about how he didn’t become a traffic cop.
